Day 1 – Bali
We pick you up from the airport in Bali’s capital Denpasar and bring you to your hotel at the beach.
A day for recovery after the long flight. Enjoy the hotel and the beach. In the afternoon, we take a walk along the beach promenade.
First stop is Tirta Empul, a temple around sacred water fountains. From there we travel to the Sangeh nutmeg forest with its friendly monkeys. In the early evening, witness a Kecac Firedance performance on the famous Batubulan stage!
A trip to the UNESCO heritage rice terraces of Jatiluwih! On the way back we visit the Sangeh Nutmeg forest with its friendly monkeys.
We check out of our hotel and move eastwards to Candidasa. A stop at Goa Lawah on the way, inhabited by thousands of sacred bats, and at the traditional salt production in Kusamba.
Today we go on an adventurous tour to the Lempuyang Temple, high up in the mountains, with a spectacular view onto the active volcano Agung. In the afternoon we meet Nyoman, who invites us to taste tropical fruits and to a walk among rice fields.
This day brings us to the ‘Mothertemple’ Besakih. There is time for a break in the afternoon.
We check out of our hotel in Candidasa and move back to Denpasar. On the way in Muncan, Suar the farmer and temple priest and his wife Subita await us for their “Farmers walk” through the tropical countryside and life in Bali.
Day 9 – Yogyakarta
Today we take the plane to Yogyakarta! Our Yogya team picks us up at the airport and brings us to the Garden Hotel.
In the morning a stroll over Malioboro street and its local markets. We then travel to the Borobudur, the world’s largest Buddhist temple.
We visit the traditional market in Kota Gede before we continue to the magnificent Hindu temple Prambanan. Sunset in a restaurant overlooking the wide Prambanan plain.
In the morning we see the Sultan’s Palace, Kraton, and the former watercastle of the Sultan, Taman Sari. In the afternoon we leave Yogyakarta and fly back to Bali.
This day is dedicated to recreation and the beach!
