Day 3 Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya Rock

After breakfast you will be driven to Polonnaruwa, another former capital of Sri Lanka in the 10thcentury AD.  It is one of the best planned archaeological relic cities in the country.  For 80s music fans, its beauty was used as a backdrop to film scenes for the ‘Duran Duran’ music video Save a Prayer in 1982.

You will then be taken to Sigiriya Rock, a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the jungle.  The rock can be climbed but wheelchair users can visit the wheelchair accessible on-site museum.
